The souks, called bazaars in Eastern and simply market or markets in the West, are a constant in Arab cities; since ancient times was the meeting place of caravans traveling through the desert to trade, conclude business, meet other tribes, drinking tea with friends or even arrange weddings. The souk of Marrakech is the largest market in the whole Maghreb and can access it directly from the Djemaa el Fna. Immediately bustle and animation in the labyrinthine streets, some covered with wooden slats for sun protection, where merchants and craftsmen try every day to do your business with locals and tourists is perceived.
